Charlotte Proclaims a Day for Church of God
On December 30, 2012, the Mayor of Charlotte, Anthony R. Foxx, presented the World Mission Society Church of God with a commendation for the Church’s worldwide work in hosting blood drives to save lives as well as its many other disaster relief and community service initiatives. The award expressed the Mayor’s gratitude and appreciation of the Church’s activities in the city of Charlotte.

WHEREAS, World Mission Society Church of God is participating in a worldwide movement to save lives by donating blood because someone is in need of blood every two seconds; and
WHEREAS, the goal of this event is to increase the awareness and importance of donating one pint of blood can save three lives; much of medical care depends on a steady supply of blood from healthy donors; 37% of the people in the United States are eligible to give blood and only 10% donate; and
WHEREAS, this church has helped communities in need around the world regardless of race, socioeconomic status or religion; they have orchestrated various community affairs to provide relief efforts for earthquake, volcano, flood and snowstorm victims; and
WHEREAS, today in Charlotte, North Carolina, World Mission Society Church of God is actively participating in blood drives to save emergency patients who are in sudden need of blood;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Anthony R. Foxx, Mayor of Charlotte, do hereby proclaim December 20, 2012 as
“WORLD MISSION SOCIETY CHURCH OF GOD WORLDWIDE BLOOD DRIVE”
in Charlotte and commend its observance to all citizens.
