Serving the community through the most powerful bond of all: family

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]This Sunday at the World Mission Society Church of God, the aroma of pineapples and laughter filled the air as members, family and friends enjoyed a day of food and fun at our “Hawaiian Luau.” As guests arrived, they were greeted by members dressed in hula skirts, Hawaiian leis and bright smiles. The Church’s lobby and fellowship room were decorated with palm trees and floral garlands that covered the ceiling and walls. And no one could resist the appetizing buffet of summer favorite foods.

Throughout the event, guests enjoyed performances where some talented members imitated artists like Selena and Spice Girls. They laughed and gave roaring applause, cheering on the performers. And if anyone was more into sports, they could enjoy a game or two of ping pong and basketball hoops. In between food and sports games, members took the opportunity to share with guests the Church’s volunteer activities through videos. The good deeds of the Church of God volunteers moved the guests.

Amazed by the love and harmony that overflowed throughout the event at the Church of God, some guests decided to study the Bible and learn about the love of God the Father and God the Mother – the force behind everything that the members of the Church of God carry out.

This event turned out to be not only a Hawaiian Luau, but an event that moved the hearts of the members’ families and friends. Many who visited the Church for the first time were impressed by the unity and love of the members.

“There must be something good here because of the good environment. The reason I came today was because of my niece,” said a member’s relative who was visiting the Church for the first time. “After her mom died she was very sad, and nothing could fill her heart. She rarely smiled since her mom’s passing. But after she came to this church, she started to smile and be happy; looking at my niece smile again, I saw a big change in her. She is a living testimony of this place. I want to study and continue to come. I also want my sons to come here. I want to know Heavenly Mother whom my niece always talks about.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_images_carousel images=”11412,11411,11410,11409,11408,11407,11406″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self” mode=”horizontal” speed=”5000″ slides_per_view=”2″ autoplay=”yes” partial_view=”yes” wrap=”yes” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
