Volunteers worked with Jersey Cares and Friends of Liberty to protect the ecosystem at the Liberty State Park. Since last autumn, when trees lost their leaves, the grass has been covered in leaves, which keep the grass from receiving proper sunlight and nutrients. Volunteers worked in unity to clean up approximately 300 thirty-gallon bags of leaves in their two-hour activity.

For MLK National Day of Service, the World Mission Society Church of God in East Jersey participated in a Jersey Cares program to organize nearly 600 coats for community members in need. About 20 Church volunteers worked alongside local girl scouts and residents to transform the heap of coats into orderly bags fit for distribution. [...]
Volunteers joined forces with Jersey Cares to spruce up the Boys and Girls Club of Garfield. They used approximately 20 gallons of paint to brighten the walls at the Club, including the Recreation Room, Art Room and Computer Room. They also decorated "I have a dream" pillowcases with nearly 40 elementary-school-aged children.
